| My application is NOT for a motorcycle, but I may be able to use a series of motorcycle transmissions to create an adjustable SPEED INCREASING gear box. This is for a proof of concept for a prototype machine I'm designing. Right now it looks like possibly about 10 HP in, or about 3500 ft lbs of input torque at as low as 15RPM (or as little as 700 ft lbs at 75RPM in) and somewhere between 1:15 to 1:25 speed increase at appropriately lower ft lbs out, less the transmission inefficiency, etc., and this would mean putting as many as 3 transmissions in series -- if that sounds crazy enough! The great thing is that between three transmissions I could dial up the precise speed increase I need so I can later specify a single gear box of the ratio that works best. I've been told there is a BMW motorcycle transmission that works externally with an input and an output shaft, but that it cannot be run in reverse. If anyone knows of any similar transmissions that fit the above specificatiosn and can be run in reverse please let me know. Any tips or ideas to help solve my problem would also be greatly appreciated.
